In its new venue in the historical suburb of Grund, this modern family museum highlights "Man", since human development and impact on nature are illustrated in various rooms dedicated to evolution, ecology and world history. An interactive mutimedia system supplies knowledge relating to natural science. The visitor may access databases which store relevant information about natural landscapes, animal and plant species. The visitor is offered an opportunity to discover the capital's more than millenary history through its architectural developments, as well as through many aspects of its social and cultural life. On six storeys, the visitor discovers a great variety of exhibits reflecting the eventful history of this city that used to be called "Gibraltar of the North". The museum features a computer-assisted multimedia system allowing the public to have access to a vast number of interactive data carriers displaying about ten thousand authentic documents and nearly sixty animated audio-visual sequences. The museum displays objects from more than 150 years of Luxembourg's postal history. Different telecommunications equipment, a morse telegraph line and a manual telephone switchboard are kept in working order. An original stage-coach (1880), a richly-carved counter and many former postman's uniforms create a nostalgic atmosphere. Philatelists will be glad to discover a precious collection of Luxembourg stamps, and may complete their albums at the philatelic counter within the museum. Open daily Monday to Friday 1 to 5 p.m.

The Tram and Bus museum is located on the premises of the City Bus department in Hollerich. The visitor comes across exhibits such as a historical horse-drawn coach, old tramway carriages and models of buses as well as historical uniforms. Numerous photos and documents illustrate the developments of city transportation since 1875.

The Art Gallery "Am Tunnel" of the State and Saving's Bank (Banque et Caisse d'Épargne de l'État - BCEE) provides a unique setting for the Bank's collection of contemporary art, which includes works by 100 artists living in the Grand-Duchy. A permanent collection of photographs from Edward Steichen, as well as regular itinerant exhibitions of well-known artists enhance the cultural variety of Luxembourg's most unusual art gallery located fity feet underground.

While the Nazis were occupying the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (1940-44), the station of Hollerich, situate a few hundred metres from the main station of Luxembourg, became one of the main centres of deportation.From here thousands of political deportees and young people recruited by force into labour services or into the German "Wehrmacht", were shipped away to an undertain future. The memorial pays homage to the victims of nazism, and complements the existing monuments and museums that commemorate our compatriots' heroic resistance, and the deportees who perished in the concentration camps. Open from Monday to Thursdays: 9 - 11.30 and 2 - 4pm
Closed on public holidays and during Easter, Whitsun and Christmas holidays.

The museum is housed in a former vintner's demesne on the banks of the river Moselle. The visitor can see old implements, a huge wine press, an office of weights and measures, a smithy, a cooperage. Still a modest place, Luxembourg's first Museum of Music -opened in 1994- brings to life the history of the ‘Harmonie Grand-Ducale Municipale’ (Luxembourg City wind orchestra) and traces the development of fanfares and brass bands in Luxembourg. Literature Museum.
The celebrated French writer Victor Hugo (1802-1885) spent several months in political exile in the town of Vianden in 1862, 1863, and especially in 1871. This museum was founded in 1935, 50 years after the death of the poet, and was completely renovated in 2002, bicentenary of the poet's birth.
